Wardrobe Wednesday - LEAP YEAR

HAPPY LEAP DAY/YEAR EVERYONE!! It is that very special day that only rolls around every four years (with the exception of centuries 100,200,...). Personally, I wish I had been born on leap day - I would only be 5 and a half years old right now :] Anywho, I also wish I had a more dramatic and whacky outfit to post - but let's be real, I shot this outfit two weeks ago and it is it's turn. So for today's outfit I give you a thrifted treasure.

I thrifted this little gem about a year back, and haven't worn it yet (whoops). I was instantly drawn to the orange lace and adorable satin bow.

The lining of the dress is unfortunately some synthetic fiber. I am not sure how to get out all the wrinkles without ruining the dress. Any tips? Also, this dress had to sit out in the sun for 3 days to get out the creepy old house smell - oh the joys of thrifting.

Other than those minor complaints I love this dress. I need some fun excuse to wear it. I am also thinking about making it a tad bit shorter...Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday/leap day!! I plan on making the boyfriend something fun for dinner. Do you have any fun plans?

  2. Yayy!! Congratulations my dear!

As for the wrinkles, try hanging this in your bathroom the next time you take a steamy shower... if that doesnt work, you may need to invest in a hand held steamer... which isnt that much money actually haha

    1. Thank you so much :]

I should put it in the bathroom, I don't know why I didn't think of that because I do that all the time when I am too lazy to iron. I am a wee bit afraid of steaming it though because I am not sure what the fabric is/ how it will react. Is it good for anything?

    1. Thanks. You simply go to their site and find their page about becoming an affiliate, you have to sign up with a program, and then from that program you apply to ModCloth. ModCloth then decides whether to accept you into their program - it took about a month to hear back.

  12. That dress is purdy, classic! It would look nice shorter and maybe you would wear it more often. You can use a steamer to take out the wrinkles, they're pretty affordable..you can get them at Walmart and such.

    1. Thank you. I probably would wear it more if it was just a wee bit shorter. I definitely need to invest in a steamer.

    1. Thank you. I love backs on shirts and dresses that have fun details or necklines :]

Haha, thanks. No one has pointed those out before.

I need to be brave and wear it out in public. I will definitely try that!

  17. The dress is lovely! Orange is such a great and underrated color, I think. The possibility for it to be shorter sounds like a good plan. Just not too much chopped off, because this is such a classy cut. :)
Congrats on being a ModCloth affiliate!! Although...what exactly does that mean?? I don't really know what the diff between affiliate and sponsor is. I mean, I thought sponsor was when they sent you free stuff or something. So what's affiliate? And how can I be one?! I freaking love ModCloth and have shopped faithfully with them for 3 years. I'd love to, I just don't know what to do or who to talk to, blah blah blah.
Mikey and I went to dinner at a new place - Zinburger. Basically a classy-ish burger joint that serves wine! It was pretty awesome. :)
Have a lovely evening with the boyfriend!

    1. Thank you. I don't have a lot of orange items but I agree. I need to have it shortened professionally, who knows how it will end up otherwise, but it is on my to-do list! I was only thinking a few inches.

Thank you again! Being an affiliate means that you get 7% commission off of all the sales directed via the link on your blog or website. I think you are right about being sponsored, you get free things for wearing them - which sounds perfect for you since you already are a model for them basically!!

All you need to do is go to that link, sign up with a program (I chose Commission Junction ), and then apply to ModCloths program. It took about a month for me to hear back from them. And who knows, maybe they will sponsor you!!

      That sounds so yummy :]

    1. Thank you! I really like the belt, but it too is a bit wrinkled/squished. I need to find a way to flatten it out. Thrifting is tough when it comes to finding things in perfect condition.
